Coming in at 148 pages, our largest edition yet, 46 pages more than the previous one, filled with great art, poetry, articles! For the first time we are following a theme, “Arcadia”. Dan Hillier‘s collage work is becoming more and more widely known, from BBC TV shows, to venues around Europe and limited edition publications. Breathtaking stuff!
Robert Venosa & Martina Hoffmann graced our first 2 editions of The Invisible College, but as they were PDF’s only for web, never saw print. Though we have thought of printing them, it is great to have a retrospection of Roberts’ work, along with new works by Martina. An added bonus is having Pascal Ferrys’ works as well in this edition. A triptych of sorts of the visionary kind.
Noel Taylor is a Portland Oregon artist, who studied under Robert Venosa among others and has started to explore areas outside of Visionary Art and brought some very beautiful concepts forward with his dreamy works. A must see!
Poetry:
Dale Pendell, known to many as the master poet of the plants, had a long a varied career as poet, writer, commentator, entheogenic investigator and much, much more. We had talked about this article for several years. Unfortunately with Dales’ passing an interview was not included. This issue though has some of the last poetry that he wrote, and this issue of Invisible College is dedicated to his memory. If you want to investigate some of his writings I could suggest this book: Pharmako Poeia
Michael Conner visits one more time coinciding with the release of his new poetry book “Canto Sun”. You’ll find his work a magical blend of several traditions from ancient Greece to modern Beat’s influences. Heady Stuff!
Sa’d Ud Din Mahmud Shabistari Persian poet from the 14th century, one of the great Sufi poets, known for The Secret Rose Garden.
Iacopo Sannazaro was an Italian poet whose poem “Arcadia” has been cited as the one piece of writing/art to kickstart the Renaissance. A beautiful piece, included in this issue!
